Brompton Reveals New Processing Technology, Collaboration Initiative

At the recent NAB Show 2024, Brompton Technology made a significant impact in the broadcasting industry, showcasing their latest innovation - the Gen 3 range. Built on Agilex 7 FPGA technology from Intel, the new range is set to revolutionise live-event production and broadcasting.

The first product in the Gen 3 range is the 8K Tessera SQ200 processor, which supports native AV-over-IP protocols such as SMPTE ST2110 and IPMX. The SQ200 processor is also backwards-compatible with existing Brompton-powered LED panels, making it a versatile addition to any production setup.

One of the key developments in the Gen 3 range is the partnership between Brompton Technology and Roe Visual. As the first Diamond Partner in Brompton's Panel Manufacturer Partner Program, Roe Visual is setting the standard in live-event production and broadcast. The partnership between the two companies is a testament to their shared commitment to delivering high-quality solutions for the broadcast industry.

The Panel Manufacturer Partner Program is a new initiative by Brompton Technology, designed to foster collaboration between the company and panel manufacturers. By working closely with panel manufacturers, Brompton Technology is able to ensure that their processing technology is compatible with a wide range of panels, giving customers greater flexibility when choosing their hardware.

Brompton CEO Richard Mead emphasised the importance of high-quality panels for Gen 3 processing, stating that "on-camera workflow demonstrations and framing-mapping technology are crucial for delivering the best possible results." He also highlighted the SQ200 processor's output bandwidth, which is 20 times more powerful than its predecessor, allowing for seamless 8K and 4x4K workflows with AV-over-IP protocols.

Several more products are planned in the Gen 3 range, and it is expected that Brompton Technology will continue to announce new developments and partnerships in the coming months. To stay up-to-date with the latest news and announcements, it is recommended that you follow official press releases and the social media accounts of Brompton Technology, as well as the websites and blogs of partner panel manufacturers such as Roe Visual and Absen. Live or video reports from the NAB Show 2024 (usually held in April) are also a great source of information.
